Leicestershire is one of a number of new franchise areas available and, according to managing director Mike Parker, would be an ideal place to start a Minster branch: “Leicester is the largest city in the East Midlands and the urban area had the fourth fastest rate of population growth of any city area between 2002 and 2012. There is a workforce of over one million within a 45-minute radius, and over 2.4 million economically active people living within an hour’s drive time.

“The area is home to an abundance of knowledge and expertise in science, technology, the creative industries and business. Key sectors include financial and business services, tourism and hospitality, food and drink manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, creative industries, logistics and space and aerospace. As an essential commercial service, office cleaning can attract clients from all these areas.”

Franchisees at Minster Cleaning Services come from a wide range of professions, but all have people-management abilities, commercial awareness and determination in common – essential attributes for a management franchise.

Initial start up cost is £28,225 plus vat which covers licence, training, computer software and hardware, stationery, machinery, equipment and materials. In addition, between £40,000 and £60,000 working capital will be needed – finance is available from leading banks subject to status. 

On average, Minster franchisees have been with the company for 12 years and some longer serving franchisees are planning their retirement. As a result, there are high quality, established branches for resale in Bristol, Dundee, Hertfordshire and Liverpool. These franchises are available at a fee of £10,000 plus vat in addition to the purchase price of the business.
