Minster Cleaning’s annual awards took place at the stunning Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield. It was the perfect venue to update the network about new initiatives and best practice, but more importantly celebrate the franchisees’ outstanding achievements and milestones.
Awards were presented throughout the evening for accolades including; long-service, marketing, operations, turnover milestones and finally ‘Franchisee of the Year’, which is based on performance criteria assessed throughout the year including sales, profitability, new business acquisition and customer retention.
Nick Barber, our Northamptonshire Franchise Partner, was named 2019 Franchisee of the Year. Nick joined Minster Cleaning in 1996 and started a new territory. Nick was also named as Minster’s Franchisee of the Year in 2010, 2013 and 2015 and was a 2014 B2B bfa Franchisee of the Year finalist.

Alan Haigh, Owner and Mike Parker, Managing Director presented the awards. Mike comments, “We are thrilled to once again award our franchisees for their hard-work and determination throughout 2019. We have a very strong network and our franchisees are excellent people-managers, which is key to a management franchise like ours.”
Across the Minster network, half of branches are each achieving sales of more than £1 million, and top franchises are each achieving sales in excess of £2 million. Annual turnover for the group is now over £40million.
Office cleaning is an essential service based on repeat custom and Minster has a diverse customer base with many contracts. This gives protection from the peaks and troughs experienced by so many businesses, and Minster’s large territories give enormous potential for expansion. By following Minster’s proven business model, which has stood the test of time for 38 years, all franchisees have the opportunity to create a large and valuable business.
On average, franchisees have been with Minster for 14 years and some longer- serving franchisees are planning to retire in the next few years. There are currently resales available in Devon and Cornwall and Nottingham.
New franchise opportunities include Buckinghamshire, Cambridge, Doncaster, Durham, Guildford, Leicester, London, Middlesex, Peterborough and Swansea. Initial start-up cost is £28,225 + VAT which covers licence, training, computer hardware, stationery and a £5,000 marketing launch package. In addition, between £40,000 and £60,000 working capital will be needed – finance is available from leading banks subject to status.
